Feeling overwhelmed with what to shop this Black Friday? Mel pairs her top makeup tips with some of our fan-favourite products to help you master your new look just in time for the holidays.

1. Beyond Liquid Highlighter – Epic

Delivering luminosity to your complexion, our Beyond Liquid Highlighter is an Illamasqua must-have. Whether you’re creating a natural, radiant glow or going for a more dramatic, strobe highlight, the deep-bronze shade Epic gives the perfect golden glow.

For a healthy glow from within skin look, apply Beyond Liquid to moisturised skin before layering on your foundation and concealer. Use a small brush and apply over your foundation to the high points of the face, such as cheekbones, brow bones, the bridge of your nose and cupid’s bow. To take your look from subtle to strobe, apply Beyond Powder over the top of your Beyond Liquid application for that extra glow and shimmer.”

2. Hydra Veil Primer

Part hydrator, part primer, Hydra Veil instantly smooths skin through a self-levelling, futuristic clear gel. Microalgae, Vitamin C and B3 work together to help maintain hydration levels, creating a healthy looking, balanced finish. Mel’s top makeup tip for this primer?

I apply a small amount using my fingers, on top of cleansed, moisturised skin, ensuring the most amount of product is around the T-Zone and then blend out. After a few seconds the freshly primed skin will be ready for your foundation application.

3. Skin Base Foundation

Not only a bestseller, our Skin Base Foundation is an award winner. The go-to choice to create a flawless complexion, this lightweight foundation is easy to blend while conditioning for a real skin look.

It gives a matte look but with a very subtle sheen, perfect to achieve that fresh faced look. I like to build Skin Base in layers, using a fluffy round brush, starting in the middle of the face, close to the nose and then blending out in circular motions.

4. Colour Veil (Various Shades)

This innovative, hybrid blusher is a bestseller for good reason. Combining the long-wearing pigment of a powder with the innovative properties of our best-selling Hydra Veil Primer, you’ll soon wonder what you did before Colour Veil. Easy to apply, Mel recommends layering up the colour and blending with foundation for a seamless flush of colour.

I love to apply on to the apples of the cheeks, with a soft, round fluffy brush, blending out and building up colour in layers. Using a very small amount of foundation I then go around the Colour Veil to ensure a truly seamless blend of flush to the cheeks.

5. Unveiled Artistry Palette

One of our most wearable and versatile palettes, the Unveiled Artistry Palette features 12 highly-pigmented powder eyeshadows in satin matte and metallic finishes. Promising a colour-intense payoff, this palette allows you to create a number of warm nude looks.

Our Unveiled Artistry Palette offers a collection of the most wearable and versatile eye shadows for every skin tone and occasion. The warm, honey shades: Muse and Poise are my go-to colours for adding warmth to any eye look whether I’m creating soft or dramatic look. I use a fluffy blending bush and blend backwards and forwards into the crease for a seamless application of honey tones.

6. Antimatter Lipstick

The happy place between matte and shine, our Antimatter Lipstick has the best of both worlds. Promising a flash of intense colour in a semi-matte cushioned finish, these lipsticks glide onto lips. A comfortable colour you can wear all day, Mel suggests using it as a tint or full lip look – and if you’re feeling especially adventurous, as a soft blusher.

“While this formula is dense in colour, I love to apply it lightly for a soft stained look by using my fingers and patting the colour onto the lips. For a full look, apply with a makeup brush or straight from the bullet. I sometimes use Antimatter to create a soft blush look, by using a soft fluffy brush and blending in circular motions on to the apples of cheeks.”
