PUMPKIN SPICE AND ALL THINGS NICE: MASTER THE ORANGE EYESHADOW LOOK

With the summer over, it’s time to sprinkle cinnamon on everything, watch fireworks and (soon enough) put the tree up. For some, there’s no time quite like the end of the year, and nothing says autumn like pumpkin spice. From pumpkin picking and scented candles to the original pumpkin spice latte.

But why stop at a cup of coffee? Pumpkin spice-inspired makeup is the latest fall eyeshadow trend. A warm-toned orange eyeshadow look that can see you through from autumn to the festive season. Brighten up rainy days with fiery shades that will keep you glowing from day to night.

Want to get the look? In this tutorial, Illamasqua makeup artist Mel Barrese combines matte and shimmer shades from our NEW Skyrocket Artistry Palette to create the ultimate pumpkin-inspired autumn makeup.

Below, we have the perfect autumn eyeshadow look to wear while pumpkin picking. You can even rock the look with dark lips while watching the fireworks on a crisp winter evening.

This pumpkin spice orange eyeshadow look is all about softly blended eyeshadow with warm tones and no harsh lines. For this look, you will need:

  • SKYROCKET ARTISTRY PALETTE – 12 shimmering powder colour eyeshadows. Highly pigmented and blendable, this palette will take you from fall to the festive season.
  • BLENDER BRUSH – A makeup bag must. Multi-purpose brush with ultra-soft bristles.

PUMPKIN SPICE AND ALL THINGS NICE: HOW TO MASTER THE ORANGE EYESHADOW LOOK:

STEP ONE: PREP THE EYELIDS

To create this autumn eyeshadow look, start by applying a small amount of either Skin Base Concealer or Skin Base Foundation on the eyelids as a base, to erase redness from this area. Set with Loose Powder or Skin Base Pressed Powder for a smooth and even base.

STEP TWO: LINE THE EYES  Pumpkin Spice orange eyeshadow

Next using our Colouring Eye Pencil in shade Fidelity apply to the top lashes and bring out into a flick. Don’t worry about it being neat.  Take a Blender Brush and smoke out the eyeliner using small circular motions smoking this liner out so there are no harsh lines.

 STEP THREE: ADD COLOUR

Next, use a Smudge Brush mix together the shades Crackle (Light peach) and Firestar (Golden yellow) from our NEW Skyrocket Artistry Palette and apply to the lid, concentrating on the inner corner and the centre of the lid. Once applied blend the product so it is seamless on the eye. Pumpkin Spice Latte eyesahdow

Take shade Cinder and apply it to the outer edge of the eye, blending it into the pumpkin spice shades we have already applied. For this look you can keep the eyeshadow to the upper lid or alternatively, you can take the brown eyeshadow and underneath the eye for a more rounded, pulled out shape.

Take a matte warm shade or even bronzing powder and using the small blending brush, apply the crease and brow bone to create a soft warm blend and halo effect, just remember to leave some space free of any product on the arch of the brow bone.

STEP FOUR: MASCARA & EYELINER

Once the eyeshadow is applied, curl lashes and apply Infinite Mascara to lengthen and define your lashes.  Pumpkin autumn makeup look

To finish off, apply a small amount of Skin Base Concealer Pen to clean up and freshen the undereye area.
