HOW TO RECREATE OUR LONDON FASHION WEEK DOUBLE EYELINER LOOK

How has it been five months since London Fashion Week? During our time at AW21, we were presented with a spectacular visual event showcasing monochromatic hues and bursts of sparkle across fashion week makeup. There was one look that became a fast favourite for fashion week fans and makeup enthusiasts alike: our Double Eyeliner look at David Koma’s AW21 show.

WHAT IS DOUBLE EYELINER?

Double eyeliner comes in many styles. From just adding a second wing to your look to an added touch of glitter or a dual-graphic liner. This Double Eyeliner look takes our coloured eyeliners and pairs them with our best gel liner to create a layered, contrasting look.

Drawing heavy inspiration from the 1960’s makeup trends and iconic graphic liner, our Director of Artistry, Pablo Rodriguez doubled-up on eye definition and paired our Precision Gel Liner with an added burst of coloured eyeliner. Pablo previously used our Colouring Eye Pencils  in not-yet-released shades Debonair and Nomad – but now they’ve arrived. Shop them and try the look for yourself.

With the added touch of our latest eyeliner pencil shades, this look is reminiscent of playful makeup in the 80s and bustling London. This double eyeliner look was created by Pablo and inspired by 60’s icons like Twiggy and Pattie Boyd.

HOW TO DO DOUBLE EYELINER

STEP ONE: APPLY COLOUR

Double eyeliner look on modelTo recreate this look, use our Colouring Eye Pencil in either shade Nomad or Debonaire from our latest collection extension and line the eyelid as you would a classic winged eyeliner. Apply this coloured eyeliner thicker than usual along the top lash line.

The aim is to be bold and graphic along the lash line. Our Colouring Eye Pencils make it easy with the immediate colour payoff and a creamy texture.

Use the lighter colour first and the darkest one second. It’s always easier to cover a light shade with a dark one than vice versa. Build up the coloured eyeliner along the top lash line and then along the bottom of the eye.

On the lower lash line, aim for a soft and blended coloured eyeliner.

STEP TWO: ADD DIMENSION

Next, pair our Liner Brush with Precision Gel Liner in Infinity and draw a thin line along as close to the top lash line as possible. By layering these two contrasting coloured eyeliners, it creates intensity and adds definition to the eyes. Double eyeliner application on model

PRO TIP FROM PABLO

When you’re doing the rest of your makeup, keep it quite simple so the eyes do the talking.

“As the eyes are the focus, skin, lips and cheeks can be pared down with dewy skin and clear lip gloss.”

Don’t be afraid to mix and match using our newest Colouring Eye Pencil shades to put your twist on this London Fashion Week makeup look. With our expansion of six NEW highly pigmented shades to our Colouring Eye Pencils collection, you can recreate this coloured eyeliner look with any of the 12 shades. #whatwillyoucreate.
