My wedding foundation

My friend who is a make up Artist recommended this for me to wear on my wedding day. I love this foundation.. I used to wear Estee Lauder double wear… I ran out of skin base last week and put on double wear…its horrible!! compared to skin base.. can't believe the difference…its the only one for me now!!!

I recently stopped using MAC NC30 as I found out MAC is owned by Ronald Lauder who funds the Israeli West Bank, and with what's currently going on, I didn't want to help fund the devastation. I was recommended to use Illamasqua and I had never heard of it before. The skin chart on the website suggested a slightly different shade but I then went in store and the staff were so lovely and friendly. I love how retro and funky the store is too. The lady knew exactly which shade would be right for me but tried two just incase and the 1 she chose was the best for me. I absolutely love it, the coverage is so similar to MAC but this looks more natural.

I love the medium to full coverage this foundation gives you. I mostly wear this product for a day into night look, when you don't need that full full coverage of a night out. I am 325 in Illamasquas other foundations so matched SB17. I find this a little dark if I wear to much, but the tiniest bit goes a long way or sometimes I apply a lighter concealer first and buff out with this on top if I want to build more coverage so I doesn't end up being too dark for me.

Photoshop in a Bottle

This was my first 'high end' foundation and I've honestly never looked back. I had a colour-match instore (amazing staff btw!) and this is the first shade that hasn't left me orange. The formula is very light and smells great, I can't even tell I'm wearing foundation. I have pretty bad skin and despite being only medium coverage, skin base blends really well and gives me a more even, very natural skin tone whilst covering my blemishes without looking cakey, when I really take my time applying it and use Hydra-Veil I feel photoshopped (in a good way!). I find that it lasts well through the day, my only hang up being that towards the end of the day my skin can look a little shiny/oily, this effect is reduced when used with Hydra-Veil I've noticed and I imagine would be just perfect with Matte Veil. I do also think the bottle design leaves a lot of remnant product which isn't ideal but it's definitely worth the money and one bottle has lasted me 3 months so far, with a little left to go.

Lovely colour...shame about it's lasting power

Don't get me wrong, I love this foundation. The colour is perfect for me and I like how buildable it is, but it just doesn't seem to stay on my skin. The lightest touch with my fingers removes huge patches of it even with a good load of powder and it's completely gone after a couple of hours out. For the price, I think it should last on skin a lot longer. It also seems to oxidize a lot faster than any other foundations I've used.

You must buy!!

If you are looking for a product to use for highlighting during the contouring process you MUST buy this!!!! It's amazing...possibly the only product I've tried that has got me anywhere near the 'Kim K' contour...just need to work on looking like her now haha!!! It's amazing and lasts a very long time. xx

New Holy Grail

Finally after about 8 years of searching for the right shade for my extremely pale, pink undertone and freckly skin, I have found my saving grace. I went to Myer in Sydney, Australia and was matched a 2, but mixed a little Rich Liquid Foundation in 'white' with this shade and it was PERFECT. I didn't even have to blend it down my neck. I also purchased Hollow to use as a contour, also because I felt it matched my paleness perfectly. I'm so pleased with the longevity and coverage I get out of it and I'm sold! I only wish I found Illamasqua sooner.

Amazing! Best foundation ever

Before using this I was admanant that Mac Studio Fix was the best foundation out there, I was absolutely wrong and I will never use Mac again. This makes you look flawless and evens out your skin tone, also since I've stopped using Mac my spots have all gone and also on pictures it creates a good effect would definitely recommend this to anybody.

Good with the potential of being great

It lasts for my 9-5 job (just) but if I am working a longer day it does wear off (I'm in events). Also, the plastic bottle is rather hard to squeeze.

AMAZING, LOVE IT, BEST PRODUCT EVER

I love this product! Its so light on the skin, making it feel silky yet the coverage is amazing! I have combination skin and so other foundations tend to stick to the dry parts, and my T-zone usuallylooks greasy further on in the day, but this foundation combats both of those problems. I also work at a college that specialise in media makeup, and we only use illamasqua as its the best!
