HOW TO: Create A Seductive Smokey Eye

Valentine’s Day may look a little different this year but we wouldn’t hang up your cupid’s bow just yet. No matter your plans, creating a makeup look to celebrate the occasion is one positive we can all get behind. For Valentine’s Day, we recommend creating a seductive smokey eye that focuses on technique rather than a wide range of makeup products. And because it’s Valentine’s Day, we recommend doing a warm take on the classic smokey makeup look.

In this how-to video, Head of Training Mel Barrese explains how to create a warming eye look. A smokey eye tutorial using minimal products, this look elevates the drama of a smoky eye in a more subtle hue.

STEP ONE: USE EYELINER TO BUILD A BASE

Use our Colouring Eye Pencil in Honour on the top and bottom lash line then blend out using our Smudge Brush.

STEP TWO: ADD A TOUCH OF WARMTH

Next use our Blender Brush with the Movement Artistry Palette. Apply the shade Truth in the crease, blending backwards and forwards.

STEP THREE: BUILD INTENSITY

Using the same Blender Brush, apply the shade Understanding to the lid, adding dimension and blending upwards to the crease.

STEP FOUR: ADD DEFINITION

Focusing on the outer-edge of the eye, apply the shade Beauty to the outer-corner, warming up the smokey eye with this warm brown shade.

STEP FIVE: CURL, COAT & LINE

Complete your look by curling lashes then generously coating them in Masquara. This step will add instant volume and length, giving lashes a dramatic flutter. Define the lash line by tracing with Precision Gel Eyeliner. For added intensity, apply our Colouring Eye Pencil in Honour to the water line.

STEP SIX: TIDY UP YOUR LOOK

To make your look extra clean, use a small amount of Skin Base Concealer Pen under the eyes, blending with our Round Concealer Brush to keep under eyes fresh.
