If you weren’t at this years UMAexpo then I couldn’t recommend planning your visit next year strongly enough!! From the prosthetic characters walking around within the large open space of the Business Design Centre to the wig stands and ‘Educational’ rooms upstairs, it was all happening in here!
We set up camp at the back of the centre in the middle. Our Head of Professional Development, Spob, along with Josephine O’Brien, our Events Manager, came up with the ingenious idea of creating an ‘Illamasqua House.’ This meant you could come and relax with us and discuss your work, our work and the future of make up.
Here is our Office Manager, Lizz, at the professional sign up desk where students and professionals could sign up to our discount accounts.
Our Key Artist, Leena, showing off her Male Make Up skills:
Here is Spob speaking to Paul Merchant from Charles Fox ltd/Kryolan on our sofas:
Our Artist, Charlotte Savoury working her magic throughout the day:
Leena is seen here demonstrating the use of our Fundamental Palette and contouring on Honey (model) in one of the Educational rooms:
David Horne (Director of our School of Make Up Art) was set up just next to us with his new book The Art of Male Make Up. Here is one of his models displaying a look from the book:
The book has temporarily sold out but you can join the waiting list and order yours now by emailing David on hausofhorne@yahoo.com
We’ve had an absolute BLAST at the UMAexpo and we were honoured to have spent the weekend there. We would love to here about your experiences and see your pictures from the weekend.
Until next time…
