As well as the stunning Generation Q make-up creations from Illamasqua Creative Director, Alex Box, we were lucky enough to work with stylist Beth Buxton, who dressed the entire campaign as well as our Human Fundamentalism and Naked Strangers collections.
It’s always fascinating to see Beth at work in the studio, surrounded by obscure props, patterned fabrics, sparkling jewellery, all sorts of accessories and an array of colourful garments. Although Beth is given a brief before the shoot, part of the creation happens on the day, once she’s met the models and gets a feel for their personality and the make-up is applied.
We always have our fave look from each collection. Mine from Human Fundamentalism was the BMX Warrior and I’m totally in love with Georgia’s look from Generation Q. I love the “old meets new” juxtaposition, especially the neon head scarf.
Here are a few backstage snaps to show you the Generation Q styling in process.
