Essentially, strobing is an advanced form of highlighting. You are adding light to the highest points of the face, but the difference is in the craft involved in making skin appear natural and not using any contour techniques. Strobing is meant to give the appearance of a completely fresh face without other distractions, with highlighting it may not be the main focus of the look.

When our Creative Director, Alex Box created a look for Issey Miyake’s SS15 catwalk show, the media coined the technique ‘strobing’ and the make-up enthusiasts went on the hunt to find out how to recreate the look. So, what DO you use to recreate strobing in the comfort of your own home?

The answer is Gleam. This cream based shimmer is a perfect highlight for strobing, you can smooth this over the forehead, nose, cupids bow and cheeks with ease. Blend it all in smoothly with a sponge by patting the product into the skin. We stock two shades, [mwi-product sku=”03224″  type=”add” ]is great for light to medium skin tones as the champagne/pearl tones will compliment best and[mwi-product sku=”03223″  type=”add” ] will suit medium to deep skin tones with its more golden tones for a warmer highlight.
