Street Style: Oxford Street! 19th August 2014

Hey everyone!

This week we visited the crowds of Oxford Street to hunt down a selection of pretty makeup looks! Shoppers paradise (or maybe hell if you can’t stand the crowds!), Oxford Street is host to a countless number of high street retailers including department stores and is always packed with hundreds of commuters, tourists and shoppers. Whether, you love or loathe the place, there is no denying that Oxford Street has everything you could want!

In the hub of the street is Oxford Circus Station, perfect for starting out centrally. if you fancy somewhere quieter then Marble Arch is a better choice, plus it is located opposite Hyde Park; there you could sit for lunch, hire a Boris Bike or maybe even hire a pedalo!

Walking down Oxford Street it will be hard to miss Selfridges!  The department store is definitely worth a visit (especially as it is home to an Illamasqua counter!)

Located just behind Selfridges is St. Christopher’s Place which is perfect for finding somewhere to eat and if you want to escape the crowds for an hour or two!

The first makeup look we found on Oxford Street was on Kelly who was on her lunch break. Her makeup was a wearable, natural looking makeup that may be suited to those of you who prefer this type of makeup for work. We suggest recreating with holy grail product Skin Base Foundation, a touch of Masquara and Sheer Lipgloss in Electrify.

What Kelly loves most about makeup is that you can experiment with it and try new things! Of course at Illamasqua that is what we’re all about! We love seeing the amazing looks you create using our products

The second look we spotted was on Sonia who was sporting a deep red lip. Tip: If you don’t have much time to spend on your makeup, statement lips such as firm favourite red, can always spruce up your look and prepare you for action! You could recreate Sonia’s lip look with Lipstick in Howl, applying Intense Lipgloss in Succubus  to the centre of the lips for added definition.

However, if Sonia could only wear one shade for the rest of her life it wouldn’t be red she’d opt for but a natural pink colour. We can’t blame her, with our new gorgeous selection of Glamore Nudes, choosing a shade to wear forever more wouldn’t be difficult! If you’re not sure which nude would suit you best then try our Nude Selector here.

Amongst the crowds at Oxford Circus we sought out Mandy whose strong brow look caught our attention. Our Eyebrow Cake teamed with Sealing Gel makes for a killer combination if you too love bold brows!

Mandy says she “could not live without” makeup. She thinks of makeup as an “extension of your personality” that lets you “be whoever you want to be”.  As for Mandy’s idea for a new makeup product, she’d like a mask that looks exactly like your face that you could just peel off at the end of the day. That would definitely save a lot of time! For the mean time, Mandy is using concealer, the one product she couldn’t live without. If you too, couldn’t live without concealer then our Skin Base Lift is a must-have!
