For this week’s Street Style instalment we made a trip to Carnaby Street to see what makeup looks we could find there. Located in the West End, Carnaby Street is a five minute walk from Oxford Street but a world away from the hustle and bustle of its neighbour.
Still a popular shopping spot, but much less congested, Carnaby Street hosts a great range of fashion shops from Office to Monki. It is also home to a selection of bars and restaurants; if you’re looking for something to eat then quirky restaurant The Diner is perfect for an all-day breakfast, a burger or if you desire a tasty milkshake!
There is always something to see at Carnaby Street, whether it be an event or their cool hanging displays. It always looks amazing a Christmas so is definitely worth a visit over the festive season if you can.
If you’re visiting Carnaby Street then make sure you check out our free-standing store on Beak Street which is located just off of Carnaby Street! We’ll be taking part in the GQ Carnaby Street event on the 11th of September so come and see the team for a night of fun from 5pm-9pm!
The first person we found on Carnaby Street was the lovely Vorn who we discovered is a fan of Illamasqua and was wearing our Lipstick in Salacious! She admitted that if she could only wear one shade for the rest of her life it would be that one. Good choice!
Sharing her thoughts on makeup she feels that “people use it to say something about themselves” and that personally she doesn’t feel herself unless her makeup is done.
When we asked Vorn what new product she’d invent if she could, she decided she’d like to see more animal cruelty-free products. As a cruelty-free brand we love this idea; Illamasqua never have and never will test our products on animals and even our brushes are made entirely of synthetic hair.

We also met Mya on Carnaby Street who loves makeup ‘s ability to “enhance” your natural beauty. The one makeup product she couldn’t live without is liquid eyeliner. If you love framing your eyes with a dramatic wing design or perhaps something more subtle, we recommend Precision Ink for a long-lasting and waterproof look.
Discussing her style and makeup inspiration, Mya often takes ideas from YouTube. If you’re looking for inspiration for a new makeup look or maybe just want to know how to nail a particular technique then check out our YouTube Channel where we regularly upload new videos!
