Street Style: Brixton! 29th October 2014

Brixton was our next port of call for our Street Style series. We searched the town for our favourite makeup and fashion looks. We found it was all about the faux furs and fluffy knits when it comes to Winter style in Brixton so read on to see!

A warm welcome from the underground station, the steel pan band fill the high street with the lively sound of their music.

If you’re visiting the area, look out for the street art and don’t forget to visit the markets. In the Summer, Brixton Splash turns the streets into a festival of live music, food stalls and activities for all the family.

As we walked past the station, Marine caught our eye with her flawless makeup and bold lip colour. We stopped her to chat make-up and style and noticed how cosy her chunky scarf and fluffy jumper looked.

Explaining her passion for make-up, Marine said she loves how it allows you to “transform yourself” and that you can use it to “get into character”. If Marine could only wear one shade of lipstick for the rest of her life it would be the shade she was sporting when we met her: a berry shade.

To achieve Marine’s look use Brow Cake in Thunder on your brows, applying with an Angled Brush and then draw on those perfect eyeliner flicks with Precision Gel Liner. For a rosy glow use Powder Blusher in Hussy and to recreate that pout try Lipstick in Shard.

Kate was hanging out on the high street when we saw her and we loved her fluffy jacket; it’s perfect for the winter and adds texture to an all black outfit.

Kate enjoys applying makeup and “seeing the transformation from a rock to a diamond!” To get inspiration for this application, Kate looks at pictures on the internet including Instagram. If you’re not following us on Instagram yet then what are you waiting for?! We repost our favourite makeup looks that we’re tagged in and love getting inspired by your creations. Follow us here.

We met Lindsay next, her contoured cheekbones were what caught our attention. If you want a sculpted look too, try Cream Pigment in Hollow or our Sculpting Duos and apply with our Contour Brush.

Lindsay said she couldn’t live without foundation if she had to choose one product but luckily she doesn’t as she loves “how diverse” makeup is as it can “apply to any occasion”. In terms of Autumn trends, Lindsay has noticed a lot of dark lips and nails.

Our next spot was Zina: we adored her flicked liner and dark lipstick.

To recreate Zina’s makeup we’d suggest using Precision Gel Liner with a Fine Eye Liner Brush. Zina admitted that she couldn’t live without a gel liner so if you couldn’t either be sure to try ours. For perfectly defined lips line with Lip Colouring Pencil in Severity and top with Glamore Lipstick in Vampette.

Fashion-wise we were admiring Zina’s lovely coat and especially the faux fur collar as the extra detail really adds to the outfit.

For her inspiration, Zina takes it from other bloggers as well as old films; she is particularly fond of 1950’s films and the style from that era.

Our final spot in Brixton was Zoe who told us she couldn’t live without her mascara. We agree, there’s no separating us from our trusty Masquara! She said that she loves that makeup “makes you look good” and for her style she likes a mix of everything particularly if it’s cheap but cool.
