Street Style: Brighton Part 1! 10th December 2014

Street Style

Welcome back to our weekly Street Style post!

This week we went a little further afield and visited the popular seaside town of Brighton, boasting so much to offer with it’s quaint lanes offering both high end stores and individually owned vintage stores. Known for being home to a diverse range of people, it really does have something for everyone no matter what your style!

Whilst there we caught up with beauty blogger Jayne who very kindly showed us her favourite places to shop and hang out. We were very happy to hear that she was wearing mostly Illamasqua products including Glamore Lipstick in Glissade and Powder Blusher in Morale (which was the first blusher Jayne purchased from our brand).

Jayne gets inspiration for her make up from history, subcultures and Goth and Punk looks from the 80’s and 90’s. We love that Jayne’s not afraid to experiment with colour and she said she couldn’t live without it! From our next collection Jayne would love to see even more bright and unusual colours injected into the brand.

Check out Jayne’s blog here.

Next up we met Emily, we love her grungy-cool look dressed in all black which is the colour she favours for the cold winter months, in Summer adding more colour and her style taking on more of a hippy edge. Her saviour product is a good concealer, we’d recommend our Skin Base Lift to cover blemishes and brighten under eyes circles. You can recreate Emily’s minimalistic look using our Matte Veil as a base followed by Skin Base Foundation for a shine free finish. Try out our Precision Ink in Abyss to add some definition to the outer corners and finish with Masquara on the outer lashes.

We caught Lauren doing some shopping and noticed her bold eyes and brows. To recreate Lauren’s strong brow, we suggest using our Eye Brow Cake in Stark with an Angled Brush for accurate definition. For a nighttime look Lauren likes to make her eyes darker, but for this statement day look we suggest using our Precision Gel Liner with a Fine Eye Liner Brush to create perfect even flicks. Finish with a dusting of Loose Powder in 010 all over the face for a matte finish that will last all day.

On our way back to catch the train we bumped into the lovely Aggy. We love her flawless bronzed look, try out our Bronzing Duo in Glint/Solar for a similar naturally bronzed finish. Use an Eye Colouring Pencil such as S.O.P.H.I.E. to create Aggy’s winged eye look (check out some tips here from when Cosmopolitan’s Lucy Partington attended a taster session of our Eye Lining and Design course at Illamasqua School of Make Up Art!). To finish off why not try one of our Sheer Lipglosses such as Artifice for a dewy natural pinky/brown lip similar to Aggy’s? She is loving the dark Autumn/Winter lip which is very popular at the moment, try our Glamore Lipstick in Vampette if you’re after a dark statement lip!

Stay tuned for part two of Street Style in Brighton which will be up next Wednesday.

We hope you’ve enjoyed this weeks post and thank you for reading!
