For the first time, the Illamasqua team worked backstage at Paris Fashion Week alongside Sorapol for their Spring Summer 2016 debut.
On Monday 7th March Sorapol revealed their Spring Summer 2016 collection at Paris Fashion Week in the beautiful setting of the Faculté de Médecine Descartes. This demi-couture collection inspired by the Northern Lights was an eclectic mix of metallic, iridescent and soft textures. Illamasqua has a strong relationship with Sorapol and Sorapol’s Creative Director, Daniel Lismore from previous collaborations at London Fashion Week. Illamasqua’s International Brand Ambassador, Charlotte Savoury designed a make-up look for Sorapol to complement this striking collection. Inspired by the hard working Inuit women who face harsh climates, Charlotte set about researching Inuit’s tribal beliefs and their ancient stories in awe of the Aurora Borealis. Hair and nails were crafted by Neville’s Hair & Beauty and featured wisps of hair tightly plaited at the sides and nails were green metallic with transparent tips. Look below for details on what make-up was used on the models and how to imitate this.
‘The Inuit woman works in the most extreme climates, and I wanted to bring this weathered yet highly delicate feel into the design. I used Illamasqua Hydra Veil and Skin Base Foundation to emphasise a frosty skin finish, while injecting a cold, pale pink blush into the cheeks by stippling Lipstick in Maneater directly onto the areas of the face that naturally blush. This cool finish was paired with an organic feral brow and a subtle nude lip.’
– CHARLOTTE SAVOURY, ILLAMASQUA INTERNATIONAL BRAND AMBASSADOR
Make-Up
Brows were brushed upwards and built up with NEW Brow Builds (Keep 21st April in the diary for the release of these!).
Lips were nude according to the model’s skin tone.
With thanks to the wonderful Illamasqua team, Charlotte, Clare, Zoe, Helen, Chloe, Tonee, Nilofar, Frankie, Sarah and Nisha for a successful day. Also to Sorapol for another great spectacle.
