It only feels like yesterday that I walked through the doors of the exciting Illamasqua HQ for my first day as Social Media Intern, saying goodbye to uni for a year! My time here has gone so fast and I’ve had such an amazing time surrounded by lots of lovely people. Not only have I learnt lots about how all the departments work and the world of social media, I have also picked up so many make-up tips which have now become part of my daily beauty routine! I have become obsessed with lipstick and my make-up and nail varnish collection has become so big that I’ve had to go from a make-up bag to make-up drawers!
My experience at Illamasqua wouldn’t of been the same without the amazing communications team, who I will miss very much! I will miss Nicola’s amazing stories and Sarah’s bursts of excitement. Although we haven’t worked together for very long, Heidi has made me laugh everyday, and I wish we could of had longer working with each other! I also want to say a massive thank you to Rose for all her help at the beginning of my Illamasqua journey and I will always treasure our ‘samdaline’ moments! Finally, it wouldn’t of been the same without fellow Intern Kirsty and I can’t wait for more fun times together when we return to uni. Thank you to the whole Illamasqua team for your help and support during my time at Illamasqua and I hope to work with some of you in the future!
I have had so many exciting opportunities, seeing the launch of some of my favourite Illamasqua Collections including Christmas, I’m The One, Glamore and the brand new Summer Collection. One of my highlights was attending the Glamore Launch event, showcasing the collection and meeting lots of lovely bloggers who I communicate with on Social Media on a daily basis. I also had the opportunity to meet some amazing bloggers when they were visiting London, including the wonderfully talented Sanna from Lookamillion and the hilarious Scouse Bird Problems, as well as getting the inspirational Pixiwoo to answer some of my questions for a Beauty Spotlight piece on Socialise.
Its impossible to mention all my highlights because the list would go on and on … However a few more would be filming and editing all the YouTube videos (where I have picked up lots of tips from the Illamasqua Art Team and special guests) and running all the social media competitions including #ImTheOne which thanks to the Illamasqua fans was a huge success! As some of you may have seen, I have produced a nail art look every week, so it wouldn’t be right to end my time at Illamasqua without an ‘Illamasqua’ themed look! … I used some of my favourite nail varnish shades: Harem, Stance and Collide to create the ombre effect and went in with Precision Ink in Abyss to create the Illamasqua logo.
A huge thank you to everyone at Illamasqua! I will miss you lots!
