I am here with a nail art tutorial slightly later in the week than normal, however I wanted to save myself for the launch of new sale lines online, so I could show you how I would use some of the nail varnishes in the sale to create a nail art look! This week I have created tartan nail art using Nail Varnish in Ruthless, Scorn and Spartan, which are all currently £5 online!
Step-By-Step:
As always I have put together a step-by-step guide as to how I created the look, so lets jump into it…
Step 1:
Taking Nail Varnish in Ruthless, paint this all over the nails as your base colour. I chose to paint two coats onto my nails to create a really opaque base.
Step 2:
Next taking Scorn on a thin nail art brush add on horizontal and vertical lines, varying the thickness of the lines over the nail.
Step 3:
Next taking Spartan, again on a thin nail art tool, add one horizontal and one vertical line in the gaps.
Step 4:
If you wish to leave the nails as they are, in order to show the matte black of scorn skip this step, however I painted Top Coat over all my nails to give them a shine!
I hope you enjoyed this tartan nail art post! If you recreate this look yourself, or create any nail art using Illamasqua Nail Varnish be sure to share a picture with us! #Illamasqua on Instagram, @Illamasqua on Twitter or post a photo on our Facebook wall.
Happy nail art-ing! Sam xx
