With it being Remembrance week, I decided to create a poppy nail art look, so that I can not only wear a poppy on my jacked as a symbol of remembrance but also my nails. As always I have put together a step-by-step tutorial with images as to how I create this nail art so if you want to find out how you could create a look similar to this yourself keep reading…
What will you need?
In order to create this nail art you will need Nail Varnish in Boosh, Unnatural, Monogamous and Ruthless. You will also need a Top Coat and a nail art dotting tool.
Step-by-Step Tutorial:
Step 1: Paint all nails in two coats of Monogamous.
Step 2: Using the dotting tool and Nail Varnish in Ruthless add the base of the poppies onto the nails.
Step 3: Taking the brush end of the dotting tool and Nail Varnish in Unnatural, lightly brush from the centre of the each flower out, to give the flowers some texture.
Step 4: Again taking the dotting tool and Nail Varnish in Boosh, create the centre of each poppy.
Step 5: Once all nails are dry paint a layer of Top Coat onto each nail. This will fix the nail art into place, prevent chipping and give the nails a shine!
I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial. If you recreate this look or any other of my nail art designs I would love to see a photo so #Illamasqua on Instagram, @Illamasqua on Twitter or post a photo on our Facebook Wall. Also let me know if you have any ideas for future nail art designs!
Until next time, Samantha x
