Samantha’s Mid-Week Inspiration: Peacock Nail Art

It’s Wednesday which means I’m back with another mid-week inspiration post to give you a burst of beauty inspiration to get you through to the end of the week! This weeks nail art post was inspired by a peacock feather. I have seen lots of peacock nail art around so I really wanted to try one for myself! As always I have put together a step-by-step guide as to how to achieve this look so if you want to find out how to recreate the nail art below keep reading!

What will you need?

You will need nail varnishes in Muse, Harsh, Facet, Viridian and Top Coat. You will also need a dotting tool in order to achieve the finer details on the nail.

what you need

Step 1:

To begin you need to paint all nails with Muse. I found that one coat was enough to create an opaque base.

step 1

Step 2:

Take Facet and a dotting tool and create circle like shapes on your nail. I spaced these evenly across the nail.

step 2

Step 3:

Take Viridian and the dotting tool again and place a dot into the centre of each circle.

step 3

Step 4:

Personally Facet didn’t stand out enough on the nail, so if you like it like how it looks in Step 3 you could skip this step, however next I added Harsh over the top of Facet.

step 4

Step 5:

The final step to this nail art is to apply a Top Coat once all nails are dry.

Hope you’ve enjoyed this nail art tutorial! As always if you recreate this look yourself be sure to share it with me through #Illamasqua on Instagram, @Illamasqua on Twitter or post a photo on our Facebook wall. I would also love to see any other nail art looks you create!

Until next time, Samantha x
