Rubber Brights: the Latest Manicure Must-Have

They’ve caused a worldwide storm for the last few months and yesterday they hit the UK. It’s time to ditch the gloss and work the matt look.

Rubber Brights have launched.

In favour of a rubbery look, this polish dries to a matt finish. Consequently, the power of these pigments aren’t lost in the glare of a shiny finish and the colour pop is that bit more striking.

Here’s how you’re working them…

Prosperity – a rich purple – is the colour of choice for ommorphiabeautybar.com.

Tip: filing your nails straight across, as shown here, can help to prevent breakage.

Unable to choose between the two, fiercemakeupandnails.com mixed the blue Serenity and green Nurture to create this multi-coloured manicure.

I, on the other hand, have been drawn toward the pink Devotee. What can I say? I’m a Minaj fan.

The application was the same as using a normal nail varnish, but I found it really odd to skip the top coat. In order to ensure that they kept just as well, I made sure my nails were freshly filed and that I used a layer of Base Coat. (Do you like my S.O.P.H.I.E bracelet? It is just £2.00 and all proceeds go towards the charity. You can find them here.)

Which colour will you be trying? Tweet us @illamasqua with your photos.

Until next time! Rose x
