Our Fight For A Fair Beauty Price …

By Jayde Balderston – Australian PR Senior Account Director

Everyone go to a window. Throw it open. Stick your head out. Scream, “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!”

Feel better? Or, if you feel your friends and colleagues may find your sudden burst of self-expression disturbing, perhaps just tweet about how mad you are, or have a discreet rant on Facebook?

And what are you mad about exactly? Perhaps your amazing brilliance at work is inexplicably unrecognized, or your extraordinary beauty and sexiness yet to be noted … by whomever you’d like to notice it.

Or, maybe it’s simpler than that. Maybe you’re an Aussie, and just sick to death of the prices you have to pay for cosmetics in Australia!

Australian consumers can pay up to 60% more than shoppers in the UK for exactly the same beauty products. UK customers pay the equivalent of $24 for a lipstick while here, in Australia, you pay $40. No wonder you’re mad as hell.

We at Illamasqua (Illamasqua has been sold in Australia through MYER since 2009) have heard and understood the frustrations of fed-up Australian consumers.

We’ve launched a campaign called “Australia Fight For A Fair Beauty Price”, to fight the inflated prices charged in Australia by the beauty giants.

Already, the petition has over 12,000 signatures since it launched 14 days ago. If the number hits 20,000, Illamasqua has committed to drop its prices

If a groundswell of consumers embrace the campaign and Illamasqua’s sales pick up, the major cosmetics houses can’t help but take notice, and ultimately look at their own price structure.

So how do you fight inflated beauty prices? Join Illamasqua’s campaign and force change. Visit to sign the petition and find out more.

So that’s beauty prices sorted.

Recognition of your brilliance, beauty and sexiness? That may take a little longer … but at least you can feel good that you’ve joined the fight for a fair price for beauty.

And that “mad as hell” shouting out the window thing? Where’s that from? Here’s your trivia for the day. It’s from an Oscar-winning 1976 film called Network, and here it is…

Maybe you want to learn it and shout it out of a window. Or maybe just buy Illamasqua.
