As we begin celebrating Halloween at Illamasqua this month, we’ve teamed up with Tarot & Oracle reader Diana Chin aka Modern Witchy Woman to learn all about her craft, healing magic & spirituality…
At Illamasqua we see beauty in everyone and everything. We believe in celebrating individuality, diversity & self-expression. Would you say this resonates with Modern Witchy Woman?
Absolutely! I help women who are struggling with direction, identity, and body issues, reclaim their sense of power and personal wealth. I do my best to inspire others when it comes to understanding multicultural issues in relationships and how to balance that with identity, which is something women in the modern age often struggle with.
Tarot and oracle readings are centre to your spirituality and craft – tell us a little bit about this type of magic…
As a solitary eclectic pagan, I combine the elements of green witchcraft and lunar magick while honouring my beliefs that were stemmed from Christianity and Hinduism. Growing up in a multicultural environment, I was introduced to the different belief systems that were a core foundation on my upbringing. As a result, it helped me provide more awareness and appreciation of my culture. When I perform my spells, I use a combination of tarot cards, candles, crystals and herbs to help bring focus onto my intention. The type of divination cards (tarot, oracle and Lenormand) that I use are mostly focused on diversity as many of my clients come from different multicultural backgrounds.
What do most of your clients come to have readings about?
The majority of my querents often ask me what improvements they can make in terms of their personal and spiritual growth, as well as love and relationships with others. I do offer my services via email and voice readings.
Saturdays are usually the best time to perform a small ritual for yourself as the day signifies endings, home cleansing and tying up loose ends. Sundays also works as well since the day signifies healing, regeneration and protection.
Do you have any daily or weekly rituals or readings would you recommend us to try to soothe the stress of everyday life and boost confidence?
I’m a big fan of using essential oils, meditation, yoga and simple breathing exercises. Usually, I would incorporate weekly rituals in providing self care and grounding my energy. Saturdays are usually the best time to perform a small ritual for yourself as the day signifies endings, home cleansing and tying up loose ends. With Halloween on the horizon, what does All Hallows’ Eve and the change in season mean to you? Does its pagan history and affirmation with ‘the veil between the living and dead’ resonate with your divination?
With the change in season and All Hallows’ Eve approaching, I am often reminded of my ancestors that have passed from this lifetime. It definitely resonates with my divination as I often focus on the lessons from the past and learn on how it can be applied in my own timeline.
How are you celebrating Halloween this year?
I will be celebrating Halloween by doing my annual yearly divination reading for the new year, while spending time with my husband and my son.
