Mixing & Experimenting with Illamasqua

Following on from last weeks post on mixing & experimenting with Illamasqua, we decided to ask some of the Illamasqua Make-up Artists their favourite tips & tricks when it comes to mixing products.

Mika – Key Artist for Illamasqua – has used Lipstick in Eurydice as a base shade and had a play with other pieces to see what works well with it. In the top swatch Mika has mixed Lipstick in Eurydice with Intense Lipgloss in Fierce to create a deep lilac shade. The bottom swatch shows Lipstick in Eurydice mixed with Medium Pencil in Debonair which makes a stunning matt purple.

Mika used both shades to create this beautiful contrast lip modelled by the stunning Illamasqua make-up artist Helen.

Key Artist Leena also came up with a trick. ‘Mix Skin Base SB01 or Rich Liquid Foundation 100 with any powder eyeshadow or blusher to make colour foundations. For example I have used Skin Base SB01, Powder Eye Shadows in Sister, Sadist & Powder Blusher in Panic. Primary colors to mix in with existing foundations for a more red tone skin add the red, add green to cancel out red etc… Also a great one for students/pros save money in your kit from buying coloured foundations just do this instead!’ – Leena

(Colours used from top to bottom: Powder Eye Shadows Sister & Sadist. Powder Blusher in Panic.)

Have you guys been mixing any of your Illamasqua products? If not, get creative and give it a try. Post your photo’s on our Facebook page here.
