For this instalment of ‘Meet the Team’ we’ll be talking to Assistant Visual Merchandising Manager, Sigrid. She’ll be providing an insight into her role at Illamasqua, sharing her experiences and tips with us!
Hi Sigrid! Could you briefly sum up your role for us?
I do the designing and making of the props for window displays, product displays and counter design!
How long have you been at Illamasqua?
I have been here since June 2010
What is a typical day in the office/store like for you?
There isn’t a typical day really as the work is very varied. Time is split between being out and about maintaining counters, working in the office or making things in the basement of our head office.
Name something you worked on that you’re particularly proud of
We had the main Beauty windows at Selfridges London for the Queens jubilee for two weeks. It took almost two months to plan and about 12 hours to install but it looked amazing and it was a great experience!
What do you love most about working at Illamasqua?
I love that I am always meeting interesting and unusual people who you wouldn’t meet in any other office.
So, what tips do you have for anyone wanting to break into the same job role?
You need a really diverse set of skills, it’s better to know a little about everything than a lot about one thing (as you can always get an expert in to help). Also never underestimate the importance of being organised. If you think being “creative” means you can be scatty then you won’t get anywhere.
If you could swap roles with someone else in the company for a day who would it be and why?
I would swap with Pippa (Product Development Executive) – it would be great to develop new shades and products.
What is your favourite Illamasqua product?
I love the new vintage metallix – Embellish is my favourite.
Do you have any makeup tips for us?
Thanks so much to Sigrid for answering our questions! We hope you enjoyed them as much as we did. Who do you want to meet next? Comment below letting us know!
