Looks

Manicure Monday: 31st March 2014

In true Illamasqua tradition, we have started our Monday off by browsing all your creative nail art and manicure looks shared with us on Social Media. We love seeing every single look you guys share with us and here is just a few of our favourites.

The first of our favourite looks was shared with us by Ruby on Instagram who also has a great nail art blog. Ruby used our Nail Varnish in Grab to create the bright fuchsia base on this negative space nail art. We think this look would be great paired with a cut out dress or top, to coordinate your mani with your outfit! We would advise using nail art striping tape to create a cut out effect on your nails and you could also use our Nail Varnish in Snap to create the silver detailing lining the negative space on the nails.

The second look we love is this creative ombre manicure from Honey Belair on Instagram. Honey took a slightly different approach, using our Pure Pigment in Static to add the iridescent shimmer on her nails and paired this with a Top Coat to seal Static into place. You could also use our Nail Varnish in Boosh to create the glossy black base on the nails. This is a look we will definitely be trying ourselves in Illamasqua HQ!

Another one of our favourite looks was shared with us by Jen on Instagram. Jen used our Nail Varnish in Load to create the pastel yellow shade at the tip of her ombre effect. You could also use our Nail Varnishes in Unnatural and Lament to create the dark red and coral shades on the nail. We love the combination of ombre and polka dots Jen used in this design. To create an ombre effect yourself, try using a small sponge to fade your nail varnish shades into each other. You can also use a dotting tool (or alternatively a tooth pick) to create small polka dots over the nail similar to Jen’s.

If you fancy creating a simple manicure in no time at all, try using our new Shattered Star Nail Varnish. We love these images of Marquise (orange), Fire Rose (pink) and Trilliant (champagne), shared with us on Facebook by Kierra who runs this fab nail blog. These varnishes are great for creating a textured glitter manicure and why not mix all three to make your nails pop with colour!
