In advance of our Bollywood inspired Beauty School Drop-In this Sunday, we caught up with our Northern Trainer, Leena, as she shared a glimpse of what to expect from the short, complimentary classes and her thoughts on Bollywood make-up and its growing popularity.
Why do you think there has been such a surge in interest in Bollywood make-up recently?
I really feel people are leaning more towards Bollywood style make-up for the colour clashes, the shimmer, the fun-factor and also the technical aspect of it in terms of artistry. Bollywood inspired make-up is ultra glam with splashes of colour, which people of all races, ages and sexes can relate to.
What products are key to creating a Bollywood look?
Key products to creating the ultimate Bollywood look are our array of vibrant, highly pigmented Powder Eye Shadows and Pure Pigments. The Medium Pencil in S.O.P.H.I.E is perfect for creating an intense black waterline and upper lash line. And of course, no Bollywood look would be complete a striking liquid liner – Precision Ink in Abyss is the ultimate liner.
What is your favourite thing about Bollywood inspired make-up
My favourite aspect of it is the riot of colours with a smoky twist; one of my favourite looks to create is with Powder Eye Shadows in Savage and Never and Pure Pigment in Static. I adore the almond shaped aspect of the eyes too.
