Illamasqua St. Patrick’s Day Make-Up Top Tips

Here at Illamasqua we love any excuse to get dressed up and play around with our make-up and what better day to get a little daring then St. Patricks Day.

St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated on March 17, the saint’s religious feast day and the anniversary of his death in the fifth century. The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for over 1,000 years. On St. Patrick’s Day, which falls during the Christian season of Lent, Irish families traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon. The day generally involves public parades and festivals, irish dancing and wearing green attire or shamrocks. Christians also attend church services and any bans you have given yourself for Lent are lifted, so if you’re like me and have given up wine for Lent, rest assured we can celebrate the day with a couple of cheeky glasses.

After seeing this stunning image on www.makeupgeek.com, I really wanted to have a go at recreating my own St. Patricks eye so I called upon the help from Social Media Manager, Rose Gallagher.

With the help of 8 products; Illamasqua Powder Eye Shadow in Taboo, Illamasqua Powder Eye Shadow in Sex, Illamasqua Powder Eye Shadow in Pivot, Illamasqua Pure Pigment in Ore,Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in Shoot, Illamasqua Angled BrushIllamasqua Blending Brush, Illamasqua Precison Ink in Abyss and Illamasqua Masquara, we managed to create a simple, yet effective look that’s perfect for a St. Patrick’s Day pint of Guiness.

To create the look, simply highlight the brow with Powder Eye Shadow in Sex using the Angled Brush. Next, layer the eye with Powder Eye Shadow in Taboo using Blending Brush 1, applying more in the socket to create depth. Using Powder Eye Shadow in Pivot, open & brighten the eyes by applying in the inner corners of the eye. Slightly dab on Pure Pigment in Ore to give a little glamour, add a flick of Precision Ink in Abyss followed by a few layers of Masquara et voila, you have a bold yet beautiful statement St. Patricks eye! Finish your look with a coat of Intense Lipgloss in Shoot and you’ll be ready to get your shamrocks on and river dance down the street.

What make-up will you be sporting on St. Patricks Day?
