Global Beauty: Beauty School Drop-In

This coming Sunday 15th July sees Beauty School Drop-In return to our Flagship store at 20 Beak Street, London W1, just off the buzzing Carnaby Street. And what a treat we have in store for you this time!

I – David Horne, Illamasqua  Director of Product Development and Director of the School of Make-up Art – have developed what I call a Global Beauty day for you, where we explore the theme of global beauty and statement colour.  Build confidence in mastering different skin tones and looking at how to create beautiful and dramatic contemporary looks.  At this session we explore light, medium and deep skin tones and how to reveal a modern minimal look or stop and stare dramatic glamour all with a signature Illamasqua twist and dare to be different wink. Whether you a make-up artist who wants to work with a variety of skin tones [or a make-up artist who already works with a variety of skin tones but wants a refresher] someone looking to build up a kit or portfolio, a bridal make-up artist, fashion or theatre artist, or just an enthusiast looking to make the most of your colouring, you can’t miss this Beauty School Drop-In date!

By the end of each course you will have an understanding of:

1. How to use Skin Base to create highlights and contours

2. The right colour grouping for each skin tone and the variations across those skin tones

3. The core, staple Illamasqua products that each skin tone cannot be without!

1:00pm – 2:00pm       Mastering Light Skin    [porcelain to deeper Caucasian skin tones]

On this hour course, you will come to have learnt about making the most of all skin tones from porcelain to deeper Caucasian skin tones. I will be walking you through the hero shades as if you were looking in to my own personal kit [and with over 20 years experience in this industry, I definitely know the hits and misses!] showcasing the best that Illamasqua has to offer.

You will understand skin correction techniques [brightening, shading, lightening, deepening, covering up fatigue, redness etc] and get to see me create bespoke shades from our extensive colour collection.

3:00pm – 4:00pm       Mastering Mid-tone Skin

On this hour course, you will come to have learnt about making the most of all shades of olive [latin, hispanic] through asian and mixed raced skin tones. The format will run similarly to the above Mastering Light Skin but be tailored to deeper skin tones who have other concerns – discolouration, pigmentation etc. We will discover the best shades for your or your clients skin tones. Again, I’ll reference my mixology skills and share with you the best mixing techniques and products from the Illamasqua range.

4:30pm – 5:30pm       Mastering Deep Skin

Again, running off the same format as the other two courses, Mastering Deep Skin will be a lesson in black and deep asian beauty. We will not only go through the staples for your personal make-up collection or kit, but the best products from the Illamasqua range that will bring out the best in you! We will discuss pigmentation issues, how to blush, ideas for lips, how to prevent ashiness and the key shades that will become your how-did-I-ever-live-without-this favourites.

Don’t forget to come armed with your questions and I’ll see you there with my team of Educators from the School of Make-up Art!
