Get the look – Mika Johnson

Illamasqua’s Key Artist, Mika Johnson talks us through this beautiful twist on a classic look, perfect for the upcoming party season…

Eyes – Brows were achieved by applying Eye Brow Cake in Gaze with the Angled Liner Brush. Sharpen the edges of the brow using Medium Pencil in Vow and blend through with a small brush such as a Lip Brush.

Use Cream Pigment in Hollow with Blending Brush #1 and sweep lightly over the entire lid, this creates a cushion for any eye shadow to help them last longer over the eye.

Layer Powder Eye Shadow in Vernau, a fabulous caramel colour which adds subtle contours for Hayley’s skin tone, over the lid and bring the shade subtly towards the nose. This look is slightly more dramatic so you can afford to diffuse the eye shadow further than for a daytime look. Add definition by taking a darker shade such as Powder Eye Shadow in Forgiveness, to the outer corner of the eye and blending it into the socket line. Lastly a wash of Pure Pigment in Ore over the centre of the lid will add shine and impact.

Give structure by applying a thin line of Precision Ink in Abyss or for a twist, try Precision Ink in in Havoc.

Cheeks – Compliment the berry tones of Powder Eye Shadow in Forgiveness and opt for Powder Blusher in Beg, use this sparingly to create a flush of colour.

Lips – A bespoke combination of products create this cranberry shade. Line the lips using Medium Pencil in Honour – an unusual brown with magenta undertones, then blend Lipstick in Growl using Illamasqua’s new Lip Brush over the top until both shades are harmonious. Finally a touch of Intense Lipgloss in Hermetic will bounce light and add dimension.

Christmas is the perfect time to experiment with your make-up. What party look will you be rocking?
