Get The Look – Key Artist Mika Johnson

Key Artist, Mika Johnson tells us how to create this 60’s inspired look…

Eyes –

Begin with a sheer wash of Cream Pigment in Emerge over the lid, this evens skin tone and will help your eye shadow to last.

Apply Powder Eyeshadow in Sex, a matt white shade,  into the inner corner of the eye and over the eyelid.  The sixties eye is a classically, strong, contrasting look so don’t be afraid to go for it! Next use  Medium Pencil in Bait (a shocking pink) to draw into the socket line. This will give you a template of where to work. Then take Powder Blusher in Chased with an Eyeshadow Brush, work this shade over the pencil line and blend towards the inner corner of the eye.

For the harsh socket liner, mix Eyeliner Cake in Mislead with Sealing Gel and use an Eyeliner Brush to create dramatic definition, over the lid and into the socket.

Feel free to go as far with it as you like!

For a heavy liner on the lower lash, use Medium Pencil in Sophie and very softly blend with an Eyeshadow Brush but aim to keep it strong.

Masquara in Raven is a must for your lashes as it is big and bold, so two coats will be more than enough.

Cheeks –

A more subtle cheek is used here to make it all about the eyes so just a wash of Powder Blusher in Chased is  used with a Blusher Brush.

Lips –

To create a more subtle, stained lip wash out any natural colour using a very light application of your favourite Skin Base. Then just a touch of lipstick in Climax on the centre of the lip using a Lip Brush.

Skin –

A matt finish is desired in this look, so apply Matt Primer before your foundation to take away any excess shine. Apply your preferred Skin Base Foundation shade using a Highlighter Brush, in small circular buffing motions for a polished finish and Loose Powder 010 on top to set.

We’d love to see your recreations.
