Get the J-Lo look using Human Fundamentalism

Jennifer Lopez- Gorgeously sculpted Oscars 2012 look

The Oscars  last month was – as usual – a slightly tame affair when it came to make-up however one look has been on my mind ever since. When will someone rock a black lipstick? Is it REALLY that controversial? It would look better than the plethora of samey pretty pinks and nauseating nudes!

My ultimate favourite make-up look of the night was worn by Jennifer Lopez.  Her look from afar was not particularly striking but up close her contouring and double winged liner was beautiful and gorgeously sculpted.  We all in the office here at Illamasqua HQ are obsessed with our new SS12 Human Fundamentalism collection and this look can be re-created using 2 of my must-have items, the Neutral Palette and Skin Base AU.

Skin – To recreate Jennifer’s under the skin glow, buff a layer of new Skin Base AU golden make-up into the skin before your foundation for extra warmth.

Apply Skin Base foundation on top of the golden base and lightly dust translucent Pressed Powder  010 under the eyes and around the T-zone to keep any grease at bay.

Jennifer wore a slight but again cleverly contoured blush. To re-create use another drop of Skin Base AU alone  and sculpt using your usual blusher brush.

Eyes – Jennifer chose safe neutral shades on her eyes but made the classic style modern and fresh by using liner in a more daring way.

The Neutral Palette from the Human Fundamentalism collection is perfect to recreate this entire eye look.

Use the lightest Powder eyeshadow shade Stealth all over the eye lid up to the brow and wash the new golden Powder Eye Shadow in Vintage over the lid.

Use the deeper brown Powder Eye Shadow shade Wolf as the dominant crease colour by pushing the shade all around your socket bone finishing at the start of the brow. Use all three shades underneath the lower lash and carefully line the edge of the lower lashes with the deep black carbon shade Obsidian.

It looked as if Jennifer used a slight skin sketching technique to help highlight her double winged liner. To re-create smudge Medium Pencil in Vow under the brow as your highlighter and sketch over the black flick for extra drama and definition.

Lips – To replicate Jennifer’s lips add a slick of Sheer Lipgloss in Artifice for a nude but alive lip that compliments the eye.

Viola!
