Farewell to Ross
Illamasqua International Brand Ambassador
Sadly this week we are saying goodbye to our International Trainer, Ross Andrewartha. After three years with Illamasqua, Ross had decided to take on a new adventure. He will be missed by us in HQ as well as counters all around the world. We caught him before he leaves to find out about his time here at Illamasqua:
Can you sum up your role and how you got there?
Working as National Trainer for Illamasqua and being a part of the growth within the UK, I was extremely eager to move to the next stage and share my love and knowledge for the brand to the rest of the world
Name something you worked on during your time here that you’re particularly proud of
My biggest achievement would be opening up Illamasqua locations internationally and training the global teams.
Can you tell us about your most fun moment here at Illamasqua?
The funniest experience I’ve had was when we were launching our new fragrance Freak and I was unexpectedly given fully nude male models to body paint.
Can you share your top makeup tip with us?
Making sure you create the perfect canvas before you apply any make-up. Skin is so important, it needs to be prepped before you work your magic.
What will you miss most about working at Illamasqua?
The thing I will miss most about Illamasqua is the teams, they are incredible! I have met some amazing and talented people along the way; every counter and every country offers something new.
What are your favourite Illamasqua products that you will keep as a staple in your kit?
A product that I couldn’t live without would be 010 Invisible powder, looks great on and perfect in your kit!
What tips do you have for anyone wanting to break into the same job role?
I think you need to have a love of training and educating. You must love to travel and visit new countries, embrace new cultures, be good at team-work as well as working independently.
What are your plans for the future?
I am still working within training but I have been offered an great opportunity to work in Australia. I am looking forward to starting my new journey.
Thanks to Ross for answering our questions and
we wish him the best of luck in Australia and for the future!
