Your skin’s tone is the colour that you can see on the surface, often described as light, medium, tan, deep, and so on. Your skin’s undertone is the colour underneath the surface. You can have the same skin colour as someone, but a different undertone.
Undertones are in the categories of:
Cool (pink, red or bluish undertones)
Warm (yellow or golden undertones)
Neutral (a mix of warm and cool undertones)
Tip: Look at the veins on your underside of your forearm or underarm in the sunlight. If your veins are blue or blue-purple, you have cool undertones. If your veins are yellow or olive, you have warm undertones. If you have both blue and green veins, you are neutral.
