Last weekend saw (a very wet) Wireless Festival at Hyde Park, London. With acts such as Drake, Rita Ora, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and J Cole all out in the open on the Main Stage, the weather did put a slight dampener on things, no pun intended…
One act we were really excited to see under the shelter of the Pepsi Max tent was Delilah. Her beautiful voice and cool festival look had everyone captivated. Every song was as awesome as the one before, an absolute highlight for us.
With festival season upon us and the ever reliable British weather, I’ve shown you how to get Delilah’s look with an extra waterproof, “stay put” edge. Delilah usually rocks heavy eye liner, strong brows and a red lip, here’s how –
Start by using your chosen shade of Skin Base Foundation. Skin Base is perfect in wet weather as it’s water resistant and won’t go patchy. Skin Base has a buildable medium coverage, so with a Highlighter Brush or Foundation Brush in your bag, you can re-buff and continue to look flawless throughout the day.
Take Pressed Powder in 010 (festival handbag essential) and lightly dust over your face to fix your base and hide any shine… or rain! It comes with a handy mirror so you don’t need to spend an hour queuing for the dodgy festival toilet to apply it either!
Using an Eye Brow Brush, mix a drop of Sealing Gel with your perfect shade of Eye Brow Cake [again with handy mirror!] and brush through the shape of your brows. One drop of Sealing Gel mixed with any powder product creates a waterproof fluid which can be used all over the face and body. Fill in your brows with strong definition. Do a Delilah and go bold!
Then take Precision Ink in Abyss and run along the lash line and flick out to create a big Delilah-esque eye. Precision Ink is known amongst make-up artists as waterproof, smudge proof, scratch proof, everything proof and will honestly not budge come rain or shine! (can be taken off with eye make-up remover)
Illamasqua’s Lipsticks have strong pigments and are known to stand the test of time! For a festival ready pout, Delilah style, apply our newest red Lipstick in Liable once. Then blot with a piece of tissue, paper or card and reapply. Blot one final time and you’re good to go with red lips that won’t fade.
What are your Summer festival essentials? What can you not live without?
