The Best of…
Mani Monday 2014!
Today, we are looking towards 2015 and excited about the year ahead as well as the nail designs! We are going to share our favourite looks from this year, one from each month of the year and then asses what to expect in 2015 from the catwalks of London, New York and Milan.
January 2014 showed us a vibrant start to the new year with these nails by @swatchandlearn using our Nail Varnish in Noble:
February 2014 was filled with love and affection with Valentine’s Day encouraging reds and pinks into your looks. Margaret caught our eye as our favourite when looking back. Here, Margaret holds Nail Varnish in Throb.
March 2014 sprung us into Spring and our Glamore Collection and the Shattered Stars nail varnishes were released! This consisted of Trilliant, Fire Rose and Marquise. Here Fluery used these and said:
“I created an ombre with Fire Rose, and Marquise. I then splattered the nails with Precision Ink in Abyss. Finally I outlined two accent nails.”
“This design was inspired by my recent trip to Tobago. The sunsets sparkling on the water were so beautiful, and I wanted it to be reminiscent of that. I love how feminine, and luxurious these shattered glitters are. Ultimate spring-time it-girl nails!”
Now April showed us some serious diversity, it was a close call but Batty Lacquer stole the show with this look ysing our Nail Varnish in DWS –
May oh May did we have some winners here! This look from Laura is still tipped to be a hot look for 2015 with its negative space and graphic lines. Recreate this with nail tape and our polishes in Jo’Mina and Faux Pas.
June was approaching Summer 2014 so the colours really began to POP! Wellnailed got it right with this tribal inspired design using Nail Varnish in Load and Nomad:
July got really cool amongst the heat with this dotty design by powderedreign. Use any colours you wish with a dotting tool and get spotty!
In August, the sun came out and seemed to land on Jennifers nails but yes, this caught our eye! Using Nail Varnish in Rare.
September meant back to School for some but meant brilliant bursts of colours for us, try this with our Varnishes in Noble, Faux Pas, Jo’mina, Alarm, Gamma, Optimist and Nomad to complete the design.
When we think of October, we get excited! We love Halloween and of course the nails that come with it! I teamed up with DIY Nails and our NEWEST Nail Varnish in Melange to create this season design:
November got cold and the nail designs flooded in as you found yourselves at home more! Margaret did it again and impressed us with this naval design – we’re all aboard for this with our Nail Varnish in Phallic at the ready!
HO HO HO We’ve reached December! We were overwhelmed with the number of Chrismtas nails we fell in love with. Here are our favourite 3:
Penguins by Mandy
Santa hats by me!
Reindeer by
Now, I don’t know about you but I feel inspired now after looking at the nails of 2014. Why not get some inspiration for 2015 by looking at our Inspirational images from the catwalks for 2015.
Nudes will still be a focal point but we will see negative space and graphic lines developing. Pastels will remain strong in S/S and Reds and Yellows will be a popular colour choice.
Looking a lot like our Nail Varnish in Fire Rose and Marquise, ombre these glitter varnishes for a Summer 15 look.
Adorn those nails to match your jewellery with a metallic base.
Graphic lines will feature in Eye Liner as well as nails for 2015.
Negative space swaps over and we get coloured moons!
Raid your fridge magnets?
An elegant sixties influenced nail will complement those on trend shift dresses!
Well, i hope you enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed writing it. If YOU want to be on here next week, you know what to do >>> #illamasqua
Lots of Love and a Happy New Year
