Beauty Spotlight with…
Morganne aka M7fx
1. What’s your number 1 Illamasqua product and why?
This is such a cruel question haha, narrowing it down to one product is tough, but right now, i would have to say Skin Base Foundation. On top of the fact that it photographs beautifully and gives a flawless base to both beauty and costume makeup, the colour range itself is insane! 01 has to be one of my absolute cult products. Porcelain white skin is so stunning and yet its always so hard to find base products for super pale translucent skin, so Illamasqua has killed it with Skin Base.
2. If you could create a look with purely Illamasqua products what would you choose?
This is easy.. my go too look! Skin base foundation in 6.5 for a flawless base, Obviously. Disobey Powder Blusher to sculpt and bronze, highlight with Gleam in Aurora and bit of Lover Powder Blusher OR Zygomatic, Rude or Promise Cream Blushers to the apples of the cheeks. For the eyes, Complement Eyeshadow Palette for the win (i’m a sucker for a Champagne shimmer and plum undertones) and finished with a Precision Ink in Abyss winged liner. Lipstick choice is a daily struggle for me, I truly wish I had more mouths so i didn’t have to narrow it down every day. But for the purpose of this question and something for every day wear, i’m going to say Lip Colouring Pencil in Woo annnnnd Lipstick in Rosepout?? ….. or Posture…. or Disciple…….. or anything in between haha I can’t do it. With all that being said though, if you set me free in a room full of Illamasqua products… I can guarantee I would come out looking more like the Theatre of the Nameless Collection so really we’ve done full circle and I haven’t answered this at all.
3. You do make us giggle!! Make-up aside, what do you do to take care of hair, skin and body?
I wish I could say I invest a lot of time and money to look after all of the above but instead i’m over here slapping paint in my hair and ripping off prosthetics without the proper removers. It’s really just amazing that i haven’t fallen apart. I don’t have the patience for hair so my hair routine is pretty simple. Lately i’ve been using the Fudge Clean Blonde Violet toning shampoo, which I will occasionally chuck in while its dry to boost up my lavender colour. With conditioning i’m using the Goldwell Colour Extra Rich Detangling Conditioner and Moroccanoil. I also very rarely blow dry or use any heat on my hair, it may be lazy but my hairs not falling out yet so thats a win. My skin has definitely bumped its way up the priority ranks in the last few years, I am pretty religious with drinking enough water now that every expression I make sticks around a bit longer after i’ve made it. I am quite oily but also get very dehydrated, I LOVE a good deep scrub but I have learnt to be a little more gentle on my skin. Lightweight moisturisers and primers are my best friends when it comes to prepping for a flawless base.
4. If you could create a new Illamasqua product what would it be and why? Don’t forget to name it!
An everything palette. A makeup artists ideal palette that can be used for face, body, eyes, lips cheeks, brows, hair… everything. Just that perfect go to palette that no matter what colour you need for whatever job.. you can just mix and go! And it would simply be called.. The palette……. ‘What palette?’ THE palette!
5. If you could pick 5 Illamasqua products to use over and over again what would they be?
- Skin Base Foundation
- Cream Pigment in Hollow
- Precision Gel Liner
- Gleam in Aurora
- Powder blush in Lover
6. What are your make up aspirations?
I just want to create! My passion for makeup is so wide spread, that my main goal is to just to be continuously creating unique looks that inspire and turn heads. I, of course, have the big specifics, like running my own FX Lab, creating an iconic look that is remembered throughout the industry and creating those staple pro artist products that would revolutionise the makeup industry (haha.. go big or go home) but even the little things like seeing my name in tiny writing at the bottom of a killer editorial spread … that’s a win!
